A Network-Based Writing System for French

is a French learning software program using network. This paper presents its implemented prototype version, Emile 1.1. It is based on the client/server model connected by a dial-up modem. The data structure, the tutoring tools and the user interface of Emile 1.1 are described in this paper. It mentions what should be added and improved in the next versions and further studies. 0. Introduction is a French learning software program using network that we are developing for Korean students. This paper presents its implemented prototype version (Emile 1.1) which aims to provide text data in long-distance writing classes. This project had two goals: one was to make a new textbook; the other was its implementation. The data structure, the client/server model and the user interface including tutoring tools of Emile 1.1 will be described in this paper. Also mentioned will be what should be added and improved in the next versions and further studies.
